I've been into my family's genealogy for a bit more than a year and a half.  I've had a great time doing it.  I've learned many many things and have found some cousins throughout the United States.  One result of the search is that we're going to have a Family Reunion.  I wanted to have a chart of our ancestors as well as many of the children that we could get on the chart.  Family ChartMasters was too easy to deal with!!!  The return emails were prompt and questions were directly answered.  I was surprised at how quickly everything went from start to finish.  I have no qualms recommending this company to anyone who wants a printed family tree.

"Most of us have our family history and genealogy wrapped up in very high tech programs in our computer or contained in a black box hidden beneath our desk.  Why not bring it alive with pictures on a beautiful framed chart, hanging on a prominent wall in our home for all to see?  Our children and grandchildren can see how they fit into this mass of humanity we call our family.

My first chart was for my family in 2009.  Since then I have done 55 more for family, friends, and others I have met along the way. They have been given as birthday, Christmas, wedding anniversary presents, to be shown at funerals to honor the person passing and for family reunions.  

While gathering the information needed we always find names that can be shared with others to help in their search.  We also run into relatives we didn't know we had.

Our customers are amazing!  Our friends are amazing!  Sometimes I feel like there aren't even words for how I feel about them, but then I eventually manage to find some.  Let me share with  you why I am feeling quite twitterpated with the world.


I woke up to the best surprise yesterday morning.  I've always known we have great friends and great customers, but honestly, yesterday, I was just blown away when I opened up my email and Facebook feed.  My dear friend, Thomas MacEntee, shared a link-and some really kind words-on his Facebook page.  He linked a blog post by a wonderful customer, Amanda, that gave us all sorts of praise from a recent chart we made for her.  And, and, AND... he said wonderful things about us too!

Our reunion was a success once again, thanks to our active planning committee and to the Family charts you printed for me.  Our reunion takes place every 3 years over the Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) in Visalia, California.  Folks come from all around the country to have fellowship and fun.  We have a large raffle, a huge dinner with music and special presentations, as well as a huge picnic with games, including a massive tug-of-war.  We hire a wonderful Mariachi orchestra that plays great cultural music.  When the sun shines you can expect to find the swimming pool in use (all the time).  One of the highlights of the Reunion is the display of our family charts.  People stream through the hotel lobby where the charts are displayed throughout the entire time.  The Lampliter is our headquarters hotel with other major hotels taking up the slack. Our attendance varies from 400-500 relatives.

A Tricky Chart

J. Hersh requested a tricky chart from us recently.  He wanted to show everything he had collected on 300+ people including 200+ photos and all of the in-laws' ancestors and step families, etc.  It was a tricky chart--and we always enjoy a good challenge.  We appreciated his willingness to let us share it with you here:

The chart arrived late yesterday afternoon. I must say that you did an outstanding job.

It is so large that it will take me a while to orient myself to look at all of the entries. However, no matter what, it is terrific. The paper quality is better than I expected. I thought it might  be textured making it a bit tricky to get good photo reproduction. Fortunately, it is smooth and a good weight.

The chart was a big hit and was a great generator of family stories.  I think we talked more at that reunion than at any other.

I did get a picture of Archibald Douglas Leafgreen as an adult and I do need to make add a sibling for Milton Leafgreen.  Milton had an older sister
named Emma born August 28, 1853 in New Sweden, Jefferson County, Iowa.  She died April 9, 1924 in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa.

This time when you print it for me I would like it to be something I can frame.

I've been meaning to write and tell you just how thrilled my family was with the custom chart you created for us. It turned out even more beautifully than I had imagined, and I was so excited to give it to them Christmas morning. My sisters- and brothers-in-law were also amazed, even though they knew I was making it, and so appreciative when I gave them their own copies. But what really surprised me was how touched my nieces, nephews, and own children were (a total of eight kids in their teens and 20's). The chart really moved them. Hi Erin,

I just wanted to drop you a line thanking you for the help with printing my Mother-in-Law’s chart. It was a lot of work getting you the information but you were very patient with me and I thank you for that. I gave her the chart her Thanksgiving dinner for her children. I have to show you a few of them here. We worked together over several weeks trying to figure out how to squish all of his data into small enough charts that he could lay them out on tables. It was a sliding scale between the size of font and the amount of tables he would have to find--so he worked on tables and I worked on getting a whole bunch of information into a reasonable space.

You can see in the pictures that the charts were a hit. Thanks for the great images Roger. We're glad we were able to help you display your information for your family.

We did several charts this summer with strong backgrounds that were meaningful to the family. This family home was a really important gathering place for family events and held great memories for all of the grandchildren. They wanted to display the family history in its context.

And then this chart was one of my favorites this summer. The Woods Family--get it? Finally a Family "Tree" theme that really made sense.

And then take a look at this great cascading descendant chart that is color coded. It was 19 feet long and 3.5 feet tall.


And Roger sent us another picture of his mother-in-law with the chart we did for her. This was such a great chart and we appreciate them letting us share it with you. She is a beautiful lady with a beautiful family. We love doing mother-in-law charts and while we know Rogers MIL loves him, we've had more than a few people come back and say that they finally had in-law approval when they presented one of our charts to them.
